Furore tourist information
Furore is a sparsely populated settlement situated on the lower slopes of the Lattari Mountains and extends to sea level. Its history and developement are tied to the fortunes of the Republic of Amalfi. The village was, at one time, called ‘Terra Furoris’ due to the furore of the waves that beat against the high cliffs here. Its natural, deep fiord was a busy port and served the many mills which developed along the river Schiato. Its high position among the hills is spectacular and offers wonderful views and hill walks. Tourists have yet to discover this village on the Amalfi Coast and to learn of its great walks through the hills, mild climate, its folklore and typical foods which in all offer a great deal to tourists wishing to discover something new.
