L'Andana, former residence of Leopold II, Duke of Tuscany, has become a refined hotel. Located in the heart of the Maremma, the hotel is situated at the foot of green hills covered with olive orchards. All the rooms have been tastefully decorated in different styles by the talented Italian architect and director of AD Magazine, Ettore Mocchetti. They offer visitors the ultimate in refinement and comfort, as well as a magnificent view of the Tuscan countryside Simple though refined luxury, respecting the spirit of the place. Tradition and modernity are united since the estate is also equipped with ultra modern technological equipment LCD screen television, high speed internet access, DVD-CD player. La Trattoria Toscana, Restaurant Alain Ducasse - The main restaurant offers a traditional Tuscan cuisine: demanding, yet simple and authentic. It relies on the purity and balance of the ingredients, and gives the ultimate refinement of subtle conjugations. The wine list, drawn up by Gérard Margeon, the Alain Ducasse Group's sommelier, includes the best nectars in the Italian wine palette. Closed “Monday all day and Tuesday for lunch” from April to October. Closed “Monday through Thursday” from November to March. The Villa restaurant opens for breakfast as well as light lunch and for dinner when La Trattoria Toscana is closed. L’Andana offers a beautiful swimming pool, a large outdoor Jacuzzi, Jacuzzi in the villa garden, bicycle rental, horse back riding and sandy beaches nearby. Opening soon: The Spa (opening spring 2006) and until then you can enjoy in-room treatments, tennis court and golf course end of 2006; until then we propose two very well appointed golf courses 25 km away from the hotel. L’Andana is also an important historic spot on its 500 hectares of estate; an entire borgo once stood with farming and handicrafts activities. It was the hunting residence of the grand duke Leopold II of Lorena. The property is an ideal location between Florence, Rome and Siena; located only 7 km from the sea side.
