Alberobello
Alberobello, whose name arises from Sylva Arboris Belli (forest of the tree of the war), an oak wood that anciently covered the complete zone. It is thought that it has been founded in the XV century from the Acquaviva, counts of Conversano, but the town had his real urbanistic realization beginning since 1635 by the agency of the Guercio di Puglia, the count Giangirolamo II.
All around the center of the country stretch the characteristics wards of the Trulli, for which, Alberobello is famous in all the world. The monumental Zone understands the wards Monti e Aia Piccola, wholly composed of "trulli" united to groups and lined up along precipitous and circuitous lanes that climb the hill. Crossing these lanes we can see from the doors always open, the inside structure of the unusual houses, that to application, will be easily visitable. Generally they present a central principal recession, that intercommunicates by the harness with the kitchen and the other rooms. On the top of the ward Mountains, it is located the modern church of S. Anthony, also it to form of "Trullo". From this point enjoys an unique and alluring landscape, that does of this center one of the most pregnant of the Puglia . The exemplary more complete and taller of "trullo" is the so-called Trullo Sovereign, with two pianos, that locates in a small square behind the Mother Church.
