Hotel Cafe Schaeferhof Situated within the beautiful landscape of the protected natural environment 'Lueneburger Heide' in the north of Germany in 'Lower Saxony' our Hotel Cafe Schaeferhof offers you a perfect and dreamlike scenario for your holidays. The hotel is ideally located to discover the secrets of the 'Pietz-Moor' a natural and protected local swamp. Charming small little villages and cottages, cities with hundreds of years of history and tradition were handcraft is still valued and passed on to the next generation, offer plentiful of fascinating attractions. Even the culture and busy life of big cities is not far away. Hamburg at a short distance of mere 67 Km, Bremen around 65 Km and Hanover with its beautiful gardens and town hall is about 90 Km away. Historical sites and cities such as Lueneburg, Celle or Soltau, with its thermal waters, are only a short selection of many other worthwhile attractions. Our Hotel offers 49 beds. 22 all different, quite and comfortable rooms with a homely atmosphere. All rooms with shower/wc, most with television, some with a sitting area in the room. None of the rooms have telephone. At your disposal you have a restaurant and a big Cafe-Terrace, two small conference rooms and what is even more important lots of space to discover the natural beauty of this countryside. All days open we offer lunch and dinner at our restaurant, with a huge variety of different dishes especially during dinner. You find the good nurturing food of northern Germany ranging from mushrooms with scrambled eggs to our special 'Heidschnuckenbraten' = special breed of local lamb. Most of our food comes daily and fresh from the local farmers, you can taste it. Good food, good wine draft lager and attentive service together with the northern German hospitality, you will like it.
