The majority of the restaurants in the Friedichstrasse area are incredibly cheap and much better value compared to the Netherlands. Also can go for the more expensive places. For instance "Kaufhaus des Westens": KaDeWe. Ignore the 100+ on sale euro shawls on the ground floor and directly head for the top floor food and restaurant department. That is a gourmets paradise. Not cheap (very expensive, but if you can afford it: "Splurge") imho worth every euro. For sweetmouths Leysieffer should not be missed. Their shop on the Kurfürstendamm 218 is one of the better places for lunch. Not only for chocolate addicts. Prices: above average. Quality: second to none. If your command of the german language is average or better, do visit an Ossie cabaret in the Friedrichstrasse area. Do not forget to visit Potzdam.

Roger Balmer has been in Berlin
Berlin is a amazing city. I just came back from ITB. I have to admit, time for exploring Berlin was limited, but I believe, I saw a lot.
I highly recommend you the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin. It has a nice pool, good restaurants, a served executive lounge which might be full at times and the hotel itself is close to Ku'Damm and Bahnhof Zoo.
You might want to visit Berlin's zoologique garden. It is in a nice park area. Elsehow you might stroll through parks. Must sees includes for sure the Siegerstatue, close to the Brandenburgergate. You might go up on it and get a nice view of the parks.
The Brandenburgergate is another must. You find lots of coffees and souvenir shops around it. The Adlon Hotel is close, just 100 meters away.
Another sight for sure is the TV-Tower of Berlin. You get an amazing view of Berlin from the top. Next to it is the former Forum Hotel of Berlin, which is now the Park Plaza Inn. It's one of the highest hotels in Berlin.
Another place you might not want to miss is the Sony Center. Go there in the evening. Get amazed by the changing lights of the glass rooftop. There are a few good Bars and Pubs in the Center.
Berlin, I'm comming back for more, that's sure.
