Sonja Knight has been in Nice

We were in Nice May 2-8th. The weather was surprisingly bad, very windy, chilly and rainy. Nonetheless, we enjoyed it. The water is spectacular, translucent with several shades of blue, much like the Carribean. The beach is made of smooth small stones, which would not be so pleasant for sunbathing without a chaise. The hotels were reasonably priced, with a decent room at the Regence in the midst of the tourist district at 65 euros/night. Restaurants were pricey, however we never left the tourist area to check out the local establishments, which may have been more reasonable. I love the architecture of the region, and the people were very kind and gracious, even to non-French speaking Americans. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Nice was much cleaner than I had heard, and I never felt unsafe.
