exceptional old town in lovely region. top place to use as a base for exploring the area, or to lock away the car keys for a few days and chill. look for old rustic locals bars away from the harbour front for drinks, they're cheaper and great atmosphere. food and local wine is generally good value and high quality. be careful of restaurant La Cote de Boeuf, my steak was appalling as was the staff's attitude to me for complaining(nicely!) about it. that has been my only cause for complaint in countless visits to france!
