Grenoble
With about 3 600 rooms in hotels rated from one to four-stars, a wide choice of restaurants, almost 130 conference rooms seating 10 to 4 000 people and exhibition space of up to 42 000 square metres, Grenoble and its surroundings can provide you with an almost infinite range of solutions.
Grenoble is understandably proud of its academic and scientific environment, with a long tradition of partnership between research and industry. Every year sees a large number of technology transfers and innovative research and development projects. It was only natural that it should be selected as a European centre of university education and that many companies, from global corporations to tiny start-ups, should have opted to prepare the future here.
Stendhal once wrote that there was a mountain at the end of each Grenoble street. What is certain is that the four ranges visible from the city from a fantastic natural playground, for hiking in the Belledonne range, cross-country skiing in Vercors, moutaineering in Oisans or mountain biking in Chartreuse.
Outside Paris, Grenoble is the city in France that has the most to offer in the arts. musée de Grenoble has one of the finest collections in Europe, particularly for modern and contemporary art. Musée Dauphinois focuses on ethnology and local heritage and Musée de l'Ancien Evêché on regional history. In all there are over fifteen museums that deserve a visit. There are also numerous cinemas and theatres, including Théâtre Municipal and le Cargo, ideal for relaxing evening.
