Corte tourist information
Corte is the spirit of Corsica, the multisecular witness of the island's history, a town with indisputable tourist potential. Corte was the capital of independent Corsica in the mid-18 th century. The famous citadel now houses the Museum of Corsica. Corte is an university town, it today counts approximately 3 500 students. Corte and its surrounding area provide numerous sporting activities. Numerous possibilities for all walkers, offering the discovery of a natural and cultural heritage. La Restonica : The glacial valley of the Restonica has all the characteristics of a Remarkable Natural Area. For sporting activities or relaxation, you may choose between swimming in rock pools or climbing to the lakes of Melo (alt : 1 711 m) and Capitello (alt : 1 930 m). Le Tavignano : Splendid area for rambling and swimming, the valley of the Tavignano is only accessible on foot or on horseback.
