Hotel Ostape
ostape is an hotel de charme located a few kilometers from the seaside resort town of biarritz, in the heart of the verdant hill region of the basque country. its spacious twenty two suites, each decorated differently and with its private terraces offering a breathtaking views of the estate's magnificent 45 hectares. the suites are distributed among five typical basque villas on the property. the original 17th-century manor house, stud farm and borde (an ancient hut) have been completely restored, and four new buildings, faithful to traditional basque architecture, have been added. on the patio or in front of the fireplaces in the black-and-white table d'hote dining rooms, head chef alain souliac creates dishes that respect the rich gastronomic traditions of the basque region. only the very best local ingredients are used. the wine list has around 60 wines, from the great appellations of the southwest of france and northern spain, to the rarest vintages among the roughly 1,000 bottles contained in the magnificent oak cellar.
