Saariselka tourist information
Saariselkä, located in Northern Lapland, is a versatile tourist centre and a lively village offering a wide variety of services. The Urho Kekkonen National Park extends all the way from the village to Koilliskairas where locals, as well as our visitors, explore the park's unforgettable nature.
Saariselkä also serves as a gate to the North, as an entrance to the North's wilderness, scenic fells and the lake district. The villages of Inari, Lemmenjoki, Sevettijärvi, Nellim and many others are only a day trip away from Saariselkä, but also worth a longer stay. Utsjoki and Teno are fisherman's favourites from year to year. A salmon caught at Teno lives on in many tall fish-tales!
Northern Lapland reaches all the way to the Arctic Ocean. The closer to the Arctic Ocean you get, the more rugged the fells appear. A visit to one of the many fishing villages, a bird-watching trip to the fjords of Varanki or an excursion to the edge of the world, Nordkapp, will surely enrich your holiday in Lapland.
