Kalajoki is famous for its sandy beaches and good services for travellers.
The Kalla Islets; Maakalla and Ulkokalla Hiekkasärkät are old fishing islets with self-government since the 17th century. On Maakalla you will find a fishing village, a small fishing museum and a 200-year-old wooden church.
