Trebon tourist information
The market settlement arose in a boggy land along the Luznice River in the 13th century. The serfdom town of Trebon, which flourished most under the last Rozmberks´ rule in the 16th century, was founded on this area later. People modified the local landscape and established a number of fish ponds in the town environs in that period. The preserved town fortification along with five gateways and several bastions, were protected by a canal, known as Zlata stoka (the Golden Sewer), and by the Svet Pond from south. The large Renaissance Chateau, which is connected with the Rozmberks´ Library and Augustian Cloister by a corridor known as "Dlouha chodba" (the Long Corridor), ranks among valuable monuments. The unique two-aisle Church of St. Jilji is located near the Cloister. The famous works such as paintings of Master of the Trebonsky altar and Trebonska Madonna, were made for the St. Jilji´s Church. It dominates the town along with the tower of an early baroque town hall. A number of citizen houses, which were built in various styles, are preserved in the historic town centre. Trebon is famous for its spa, fish ponds and for the trademark of the Regent beer. The town environs was proclaimed the Trebonsko landscape protected area (CHKO Trebonsko) and the UNESCO biosphere reserve.
