About Trebon
The market settlement arose in a boggy land along the Luznice River in the 13th century. The serfdom town of Trebon, which flourished most under the last Rozmberks´ rule in the 16th century, was founded on this area later. People modified the local landscape and established a number of fish ponds in the town environs in that period. The preserved town fortification along with five gateways and several bastions, were protected by a canal, known as Zlata stoka (the Golden Sewer), and by the Svet Pond from south.
