Scarborough tourist information

Scarborough Ontario

The city of Scarborough is part of the newly created Greater Toronto Area and borders along Toronto’s East Side. Scarborough covers a large area and is home to numerous apartment complexes and housing rentals. The average price of an apartment is generally lower then it would be in Toronto due to the simple fact that the city of Scarborough is located further away from Toronto’s downtown core.

The centre of Scarborough is located in the northern part of the city, right next to Highway 401. City Hall is located in a section of land that is home to many government buildings and the Y.M.C.A. Also located next to City Hall is Scarborough’s biggest mall, the Scarborough Town Centre. With access off of McCowen or Brimley Rd., the mall has recently been renovated with new stores and restaurants and has also added a series of gigantic movie theatres that are second to none.

One of the nicest areas in Scarborough is situated in the southern part of the city and just south of Kingston Rd. The Scarborough Bluffs and Bluffers Park are heavily used by both tourists and families that are out for a break from the hectic lifestyle of the city. The Bluffs is also a favorite with many boaters as it hosts numerous marinas and its closeness to Toronto’s downtown core makes it quite accessible to everyone.

Located in Scarborough’s northeast corner is Agincourt. This area has a large Asian population and the stores and restaurants are dominated by Asian writing. This is a great area to have a nice meal and also provides some of Scarborough’s best shopping. All throughout Scarborough there are a number of schools and none are known better then Woburn Collegiate which is situated on Ellesmere Ave., just east of Markham Rd.

Throughout the city of Scarborough, apartment complexes cover the skyline, which have a wide range of prices. Scarborough is a city that is extremely multicultural which allows for great diversity in everything from stores restaurants and entertainment. The city offers a little bit of everything to everybody and it is easy to find a great place to live.
