Midland Ontario
The Town of Midland is situated at the gateway to Georgian Bay's picturesque 30,000 Islands. Our culturally rich town has become the nerve center of North Simcoe for economic prosperity, envious lifestyle in idyllic surroundings and an abundance of recreational pursuits.
Midland is a town of picturesque beauty. Our history dates back to the time of the Jesuits, who where the first Europeans to view this beautiful area, and the Huron people who have proudly allowed our area to bear their name. We, as a community, are thriving on the shores of Georgian Bay.
Some of the many local attractions include Huronia Museum and Huron-Ouendat Village, Little Lake Park, Castle Village, 30,000 Islands Boat Cruises, and much more including fresh water beaches, harbours, and nature trails. There is something to see and do all year round.
The Huronia Airport is 13 km. (8 miles) from downtown Midland. The Airport has a modern terminal building, a 3,998 foot runway which includes an ARCAL system and precision approach lights, an expanded ramp area, a 2,000 foot taxiway, industrial 550 hydro service and an upgraded aviation fuel storage and dispensing facility. Other services provided at the Airport include an aircraft maintenance facility, chemical free commercial aircraft de-icing capabilities, aircraft rental, flight training and charter service.
