Among the many types of fish that can be found in the Gananoque and the 1000 Islands are: Muskellunge (muskie), Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Bullhead, Channel Catfish, Bowfin, Eel, Rock Bass, Sunfish, Bluegill, Sturgeon, Walleye, Salmon and Pickerel. All of the fish are edible except for the Bowfin and the Sturgeon. Services in Gananoque and the 1000 Islands are available to ensure that your fishing experience, whether for a few hours, a day or for a week, is a pleasurable one. Boat launching ramps are located on St. Lawrence Street in Gananoque, and many of the marinas, lodges, tourist resorts and campgrounds in the area. Local marina also have slips available for those who wish to spend a night.
