Renaissance Toronto Airport Hotel description
Landscaped grounds and natural decor provide an outdoorsy ambience at this hotel one kilometer east of the Toronto airport. Guestrooms with autumnal colors feature complimentary high-speed Internet access and views of the airport or nearby golf course. A glass-domed indoor pool, well-equipped fitness center, and water garden are attractive venues in which to work out or unwind.
This eight-story hotel opened as a Renaissance property in April 2004, and is located one kilometer east of the Toronto International Airport. The hotel features a themed décor that uses natural fibers, stone, and autumnal colors designed to recreate the woodsy Muskoka vacation area of central Ontario. Large windows, a landscaped garden with a waterfall, and the adjacent Royal Woodbine Golf Club further enhance the outdoorsy flavor.
Inside the hotel, guests will find a Mediterranean-themed restaurant, glass-domed indoor pool, and fitness center overlooking the gardens. The property’s 26,000 square feet of function space includes a 7,000-square-foot, automobile-accessible ballroom and a business center with complimentary high-speed Internet access. Complimentary wireless Internet is available in the lobby and lounge area, and network cards are available. All public areas are non-smoking; airport-shuttle service is complimentary, and small pets (under 20 pounds) are welcome.
This hotel offers 249 guestrooms in an eight-story building. Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows with airport or golf-course views and a natural, outdoors-inspired décor marked by dark woods and gold and bronze color schemes. Furnishings include two chairs, ottomans, and beds with 11-inch mattresses and down duvets.
All guestrooms provide complimentary newspapers, multi-line phones with both voice mail and dial-up Internet access (surcharge), and cable TV with video-game consoles. High-speed Internet access is complimentary. (Rollaway beds are available, but only in rooms with king beds.)
Olio: A Mediterranean Grille - Hardwood floors, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows provide a bright, modern setting for this restaurant’s menu of Mediterranean cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Olio Lounge - This comfortable bar near the entrance of the hotel features a fireplace, pool table, and big-screen TVs.
The hotel’s indoor pool and spa tub are set beneath a glass dome. The fitness center offers a Universal machine, cardiovascular equipment, and large windows that overlook the water garden just outside.
The hotel is also adjacent to the Royal Woodbine Golf Club, which features an 18-hole public course noted for its many water hazards and scenic layout along Mimico Creek. Centennial Park, five kilometers from the hotel, is a large community park with ice-skating rinks, hiking and biking trails, and fields for softball, soccer, and disc golf. The park is also home to the Olympium fitness facility, which offers exercise programs, an indoor jogging track, and two pools.
