I stayed with my family at Sheraton Sofia. It is a great hotel with good service. It's location is excellent, because from there you can walk throug Sofias shopping district and it's also close to metro an bus. Sofia has a lot of interesting buidlings and is really worth a stay.

Sofia is a huge city, hanging most of the winter in its smog. Sofia might have expensive hotels, but costs for drinks and food are fairly low. There are hundreds of Restaurants and Bars in the city. One Restaurant that is a must for me is the 33 Chairs. They serve kind of the best food. Reservations are necessary. A must see is the Alexander Nevski Church, the Vitosha Square and the National Center of Culture. If you have time, a little trip to Mount Vitosha and the monastery Rila are a must.
