Lachezar has been in Rousse

Rousse is found in the first century AD (69-79)as a Roman castle called Sexaginta Prista. It was a navy station. Tourists can visit the present museum and see the remains of the ancient fortress:sarcophagi, coins, milestones... Rousse is full of remarkable buildings from the 19th and the early 20th centuries.Gothic, Baroque,Empire and Rococo are blended in unusual patterns and generate the unmistakable atmosphere that stays with you afteryou have visited Rousse. In Svoboda(Freedom)Square is set the emblem of the city-the Monument of Freedom wich was inaugurated in 1908.Near Rousse are the Ivanovo Rock Churches Archaeological Reserve.High in the rocks,40-50 m above the ground are the scenic caves that were inhabited by medieval monks. They lived there 700 years ago,in a period marked by active spiritual life in the last decades of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. There was a monastic centre in the period between 12th and 14th centuries. The monks enlarged the natural caves and turned them into chapels and churches. The churches are in the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. The Archaeological Reserve of the Medieval Town of Cherven is also near.
