Taubaté was the first city to also establish a team of soccer in the region of the Valley of Paraíba and one of the pioneers in Brazil. The soccer in Taubaté appeared in 1904 with the?Ensaios calls of foot-ball, during the ciclísticas competitions in the velodrome of the city.
Inaugurated in 03 of April of 1904, the Taubateense Velodrome started to be one of the main attractions for the esportistas of the city in the afternoons of sunday. Through the?Ensaios of foot-ball, the Sport Club Taubateense was born, created for gotten passionate for the soccer in the city. Jose Peter de Oliveira, Jayme Tindal and Frederico Livrero had been main the responsible ones for the creation.
In the day 1º of November of 1914, appears the Sport Taubaté Club. A previous one of the official meeting, where the E.C.Taubaté would appear, was carried through in day 25 of October of 1914, when the colors of the club had been defined. It would be the blue one, representing the infinite color of the sky and the white, symbolizing the peace.
Finally, in the first day of November of that year, he was established the Sport Taubaté Club. The residence of Francisco de Paula Barbosa Pear tree served as session room, with the presence of 48 partners, for?1a Definitive General meeting of the Sport Taubaté Club.
Alem of the proprietor of the place and the chairman of the board, Gastão of the Loyal Chamber (1º president of the E.C.Taubaté), was gifts in the occasion, Tito Barbosa, Idenfonso de Almeida and other council members of the time.
Despite the original act of this assembly not existing more, in day 14 of February of 1976, Jose Marcelino de Moraes transcribed the possible content of the document, that gave life to the taubateano club.
