Webtourist Network operates and manages a set of leading Internet Travel Sites to offer customers with the capability to initiate secure hotel reservations.
History of Webtourist
- 1996: Roger Balmer launches RBIS (Roger Balmer Internet Services) City Guides on the Web as one of the first Websites providing worldwide destination Information.
- 1998: As of a branding purpose, Roger Balmer renames RBIS City Guides into Webtourist and launches Webtourist.ch and Webtourist.Net. In the same year for a first time visitors are capable to book hotels through our website.
- 1999: Webtourist starts a Affiliation with TravelNow and concentrates on selling hotel-rooms, car-rentals and airline-tickets on the web.
- 2001: Based on the big success of Webtourist, Roger Balmer and business partners found a swiss registered incorporation named Webtourist Network AG, based in Zug, Switzerland. Founder Roger Balmer stays in the company and becomes President of the board. Co-Founders Jürg Grau (Vice-President) and Miroslav Bauer complete the board. Michael Sterchi becomes Secretary of the board
- 2003: Webtourist switches Affiliaton from TravelNow to World Choice Travel to offer a wider range and better hotel room availability to its cutsomers
- 2004: Jürg Grau leaves the board of directors at Webtourist Network AG. Miroslav Bauer becomes the new Vice-President.
- 2005: Michael Sterchi and Miroslav Bauer leave Webtourist Network AG's Operations. Webtourist starts new co-operations that become operative in 2006. Roger Balmer announces Josef Balmer as new member of the Board and Andrea Balmer as secretary of the board for 2006.
During the past ten years, Webtourist served Millions of travelers needs and ongoing benefits of the professional technological server housing and internet hosting experience of its first day partner Init Seven AG.
